If you are an HVACR professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a 2nd shift laboratory technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to assemble Fixed and Mechanical Modulation compressors and/or developmental testing of compressors.

  • Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.

  • Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, durability life test stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.

  • Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests or builds.

  • Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.

  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.

  • You will be responsible for completing required tests or builds and communicating test results with engineers.

  • You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Associates degree or two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have basic HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills

  • Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

SCHEDULE:
This position is on 2nd shift and would consist of five-eight-hour workdays from 3:00pm to 11:30pm and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.

This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit.
