Our client is an established systems integrator in Dayton, OH and are currently looking for an experienced Controls Engineer. This is a full-time/direct hire opening offering a great base salary with full benefits. You will have the opportunity to work for one of the largest equipment suppliers in the U.S. and you will join an experienced and proven team of engineers and technical professionals.

Position Overview
This role involves designing electrical controls for automated machines from concept through installation at customer sites. Responsibilities include creating electrical schematics to meet customer specifications, supporting system assembly, and programming all system functions. The engineer will also assist during installation and commissioning.

Ideal Candidate
Highly organized, self-driven, customer-focused, able to travel across North America, and an effective communicator.

Key Duties

• Design electrical schematics for automated equipment and robotic cells
• Perform clean-sheet and offline programming
• Debug, complete, and refine programs during commissioning
• Create bills of materials and support purchasing
• Write equipment operation manuals
• Conduct and document equipment risk assessments

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience
• Associate’s degree or higher
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar 2D tools
• PLC programming (AB, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Siemens)
• HMI programming (AB, Mitsubishi)
• Ability to travel up to 25% within the U.S.
• Knowledge of industry safety requirements and design practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Robotic programming (FANUC, Motoman, ABB)
• Cognex or FANUC iRVision experience
• Project management experience
