Electrical Test Engineer II - Powertrain System Controls

This role will support engineering test and development activities for Automotive Powertrain System Controls such as Transmission, Shifter, Fuel Injection, etc .
\n Responsibilities- Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.
- Writing hardware and software specifications
- Depending on functional area, have to perform objective and subjective testing by driving.
- Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.
- Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting.
- Instrument vehicles for objective tests, conduct vehicle testing on actual car and simulator.
- Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Negotiate with other departments internally and suppliers externally to meet the spec requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams to report status, results and develop countermeasures.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.
- Travel to client / test sites required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar and 3+ yrs Automotive Powertrain Systems Controls' testing experience.
- 3+ years of experience with Automotive ECU validation required (Transmission, Shifter, FI ECU experience preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting and CAN structures.
- Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development required.
- Experience with Hands-on Bench and Vehicle-level testing required.
- Knowledge of and experience with CAN communication networks and related tools (Vector CAN Tools, CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, etc) is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS office.
- Valid US driver's license.
