Role — Low-Voltage Life Safety Systems Field Technician

Location: Euclid, OH

Work Type: Full time / On-site

A day in the field

You start your morning reviewing the dispatch board and mapping out your service calls across Euclid. First stop: a fire alarm panel reporting a supervisory trouble. You isolate the issue, verify device integrity, and bring the panel back to compliant operation. Next, you pivot to a camera outage, tracing a power issue and restoring video. Throughout the day, you document each step, keep dispatch and your Service/Inspection Manager in the loop, and make sure customers understand how to operate their systems before you leave.

What you'll tackle

• Diagnose and correct faults on fire alarm, intrusion/security, access control, and CCTV systems.
• Complete scheduled inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance aligned with manufacturer guidance and applicable codes.
• Respond quickly to service requests; communicate status and outcomes clearly to dispatch and leadership.
• Function-test entire systems after repairs; record all actions, materials, and time.
• Keep accurate job records, including parts consumption and labor hours.
• Train end users on system basics and answer operational questions.
• Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and device replacements when needed.
• Care for company tools, service vehicle, and test equipment to ensure reliability and cleanliness.
• Work safely and in compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and NFPA standards.
• Represent the company with professionalism at each customer site.

What you bring

• 2+ years servicing fire alarm, electronic security, or access control systems in the field.
• Hands-on skill with control panels and peripheral devices, including effective troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with platforms such as DMP, Mircom, Avigilon, and Honeywell (preferred).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 72.
• Clear, customer-friendly communication and strong service mindset.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and apply test instruments accurately.
• Basic computer proficiency for ticketing and documentation.
• Fire Alarm License (as required by jurisdiction) obtained within 90 days of eligibility.
