Quality Inspector
Workers selected for this role are not permitted to have any driving responsibilities nor are they allowed to have any driving responsibilities for the entire assignment
Quality Inspector Summary:The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of specific inventory materials. This role inspects inventory for acceptable visual condition and dimensional specifications and is responsible for the restoration and preservation of specific materials, as well as the assembly of components and modification of finished goods.
Key Requirements (Must Haves):
Incoming material / kit inspection
Confirm assemblies are built to work instructions and customer specifications
Ensure assembly checklists are completed accurately and in full
Final testing
Ensure customer packaging specifications are met Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and visual inspections of inbound and outbound materials for kind, condition, and supplier documentation
Document, tag, control, and segregate product in accordance with established procedures
Coordinate contract submittals and product acceptance to quality assurance; use controlled stamp to indicate product acceptance and certificate accuracy
Work with external customers, internal customers, suppliers, and business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance
Perform sample lot inspections of drawing characteristics and initiate discrepancy reports and hold notices
Maintain training records
Maintain equipment calibration
Coordinate with customer quality resources, as needed, when corrective actions flow from the customer to the supply base
Review and interpret customer requirements; review and approve supplier quality documentation
Support internal and external organization and standardization (ISO) audits
Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
2%2B years of experience in the industrial industry, distribution environment, or equivalent experience
Prior inspection and/or quality control experience
Quality certification required Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree or Trade School in Quality/Material Composition, Non-Destructive Testing, or equivalent program preferred
Previous ISO Quality Systems experience a plus
Previous global company experience a plus
Statistics training and experience a plus Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong math background, including algebra, geometry, fractions, decimals, and conversions
Familiarity with interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing process evaluation
Familiarity with process control tools
Strong eye for quality assurance and attention to detail
Ability to follow up and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Strong teamwork skills
High level of integrity
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge and application of UL, CE, CSA, IEC, ASTM, ANSI, and other relevant global regulatory codes Working Conditions:
Frequently exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise levels and/or heat and cold
Occasionally exposed to electrical hazards and risk of electrical shock
Occasionally handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment
No travel required Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, walk, and use hands/fingers/handle/feel as required
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
Must be able to climb or balance using warehouse equipment such as ladders, forklifts, or pallet jacks
Must be able to talk, hear, taste, and smell to effectively communicate and detect hazardous conditions
