Field Lead
Job Description
An employer is seeking a Field Lead for a direct hire opportunity in the Columbus, OH area. The Field Lead will be responsible for the detailed planning and execution of assigned phases of work on construction projects, as directed by the Project Lead. This role provides daily leadership to Crew Task Leads (CTLs) and Craft to ensure work is planned, communicated, and executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the overall project plan. The Field Lead owns daily safety, quality, and production outcomes for their assigned phases and plays a key role in mentoring and developing field talent. Other responsibilities will include:
Plan and execute assigned phases of work in alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations
Lead Daily Planning and Preparation (DPP) to create, communicate, and adjust daily work plans
Supervise and direct Crew Task Leads and Craft to achieve daily production goals
Maintain ownership of safety and quality outcomes for assigned phases, ensuring hazards are identified and addressed
Mentor, teach, and guide Crew Task Leads and Craft to improve effectiveness and support career development

Skills and Requirements
5-10 years of experience in concrete constructionComfortable working overtime (on average 50 hours per week)
3+ years leading crews in the field on construction projectsPlanning and executing DAILY project plan laid out by the Project Lead including use of labor, materials and equipment
Extensive experience within reporting and documentation (ie: quantity reports, FROI and RCA) Experience with phase planning (labor, materials, equipment, safety)
Familiarity with Daily Planning and Preparation (DPP) processes
Experience identifying jobsite risks and communicating them to the Project Lead
Exposure to incident reporting or root cause analysis
Interest in growing into larger leadership roles over time
