Job Title: Surgical Assistant

Schedule Options:

• 4 × 10-hour shifts or

• 5 × 8-hour shifts
  
  Typical Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  
  Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Package:

• Hourly Rate: $64.58

• Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,743/week

• Estimated Weekly Gross: $2,583

Position Overview

A hospital is seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant to support surgeons during complex operative procedures. This role requires strong expertise in robotic and orthopedic surgeries and the ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures, including robotic and orthopedic cases

• Provide intraoperative support such as exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and instrument handling

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and surgical supplies

• Maintain sterile technique and comply with surgical safety protocols

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical technologists

• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to facility policies and standards

• Support optimal patient outcomes through safe and efficient surgical assistance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Assistant

• Exceptional experience in robotic and orthopedic surgery (required)

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program , OR

• Foreign Medical Graduate with a minimum of 3 years of Surgical Assistant experience in the U.S. (case-by-case consideration)
