Who Are We:

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.

What You Will Do:

Under the supervision of the FFT Supervisor, the Licensed Mental Health Therapist provides direct mental health services to GRO clients. This role primarily focuses on assisting clients in developing essential life and social skills while offering advocacy support through community intervention on both an individual and group basis. We’re looking for someone with provisional licensure in social work, counseling, or family therapy who is eager to learn new clinical interventions, grow in their role, and continue an active independent licensure.

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist helps clients create a realistic vision for improved functioning and equips them with the necessary skills to manage their mental health effectively. Assigned a specific client caseload, the therapist follows guidance based on Ohio Assessment tools and Individual Treatment Plans to address each client’s identified goals and skill development needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual & Family Counseling: Provide therapy to mothers, caregivers, and their sons to address their emotional, mental, and social well-being. Provide client-centered services.
  • Case Management: Connect families with community resources and additional support services as needed. Assesses clients skills, knowledge and needs, and contributes to the development of the overall treatment of the client using the diagnostic assessment and other available records.
  • Home/Community Visits: Build strong, trusting relationships with families by visiting homes and providing direct support in a familiar environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the clinical team at GRO Community to ensure a comprehensive approach to each family's needs. Collaborate with other mental health professionals and referral sources as needed.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for counseling sessions and case management activities, ensuring compliance with agency policies. Responsible for documentation and developing the following by connecting with each client at minimum once per week. Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and ethical guidelines.
  • Support Groups/Workshops: Facilitate groups designed to strengthen relationships between mothers/caregivers and their sons and help them navigate challenges.
  • Care Plans: Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each family’s strengths and goals, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure continued support. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Parent Engagement: Create engaging activities for parents to encourage their active participation and support.
  • Adhere to all state licensing regulations and ethical standards of practice.
  • Receives and participates in clinical supervision.
  • Follows all Agency, state regulatory, program policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors own schedule to assure that all required training, meeting and counseling sessions are completed as scheduled.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the Program Manager; performs non-routine duties related to the overall functioning of the services.

  • Adaptability & Flexibility – Ability to adjust approaches based on client needs and evolving situations.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork – Effectively works with multidisciplinary teams, supervisors, and external partners.

Education:

Required to hold an active Ohio license as one of the following:

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW/LISW-S)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC/LPCC-S)
  • Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT/IMFT-S)
  • Psychologist (Ph.D./Psy.D.)

Ability to Commute to Onsite Office:

  • Cincinnati, OH ( Required )

Ability to Relocate:

  • Cincinnati, OH: Relocate before starting work ( Required )
Requirements:
  • Must hold an active Ohio license as one of the following:
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW/LISW-S)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC/LPCC-S)
  • Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT/IMFT-S)
  • Psychologist (Ph.D./Psy.D.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience providing therapy in a private practice or outpatient setting is a plus.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, and intervention skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining ethical and professional standards.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) for documentation.
