Irrigation Field Superintendent

Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform service work, repairs, and installations for irrigation and lighting systems in the field.
- Conduct seasonal startup, backflow testing, and shutdown of irrigation systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with valves, wires, controllers, sprinkler heads, and lighting fixtures.
- Ensure all field operations meet company quality standards and are completed efficiently.
- Create and manage estimates for irrigation and lighting projects, supporting sales goals and company budgets.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and upselling opportunities.
- Monitor and report on field data, including time tracking and material usage, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
- Train, mentor, and provide feedback to junior technicians, supporting their professional growth and maintaining high team performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting complex field issues.
- Coordinate with the Contract Administrator on job assignments, priorities, and proper job costing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of field experience as an Irrigation Installation or Service Technician, or similar relevant experience.
- Backflow certification required or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to pursue additional certifications, such as Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT).
- Expertise in installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation and lighting systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance field and operational responsibilities.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile software applications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for team guidance and client engagement.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as digging, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, including those requiring ear protection.
Compensation
$28–$34 per hour , non-exempt
