Irrigation Field Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform service work, repairs, and installations for irrigation and lighting systems in the field.
• Conduct seasonal startup, backflow testing, and shutdown of irrigation systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with valves, wires, controllers, sprinkler heads, and lighting fixtures.
• Ensure all field operations meet company quality standards and are completed efficiently.
• Create and manage estimates for irrigation and lighting projects, supporting sales goals and company budgets.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and upselling opportunities.
• Monitor and report on field data, including time tracking and material usage, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
• Train, mentor, and provide feedback to junior technicians, supporting their professional growth and maintaining high team performance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting complex field issues.
• Coordinate with the Contract Administrator on job assignments, priorities, and proper job costing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of field experience as an Irrigation Installation or Service Technician, or similar relevant experience.
• Backflow certification required or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to pursue additional certifications, such as Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT).
• Expertise in installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation and lighting systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to balance field and operational responsibilities.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile software applications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for team guidance and client engagement.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as digging, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, including those requiring ear protection.

Compensation

$28–$34 per hour , non-exempt
