General Description:The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations across machining, assembly, and packaging areas, as well as providing oversight for second shift operations as needed. This role manages a team of CNC machine operators and assembly/packaging personnel, ensuring the efficient production of precision parts and completed products in a safe, organized work environment. The Supervisor plays a pivotal role in optimizing workflow, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement throughout all shifts. Reports to : Director of Operations
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the activities of CNC machine operators, assembly, and packaging team members, providing daily guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient, high-quality operations.
- Oversee second shift operations as required, ensuring consistent production performance and adherence to safety and quality standards across all shifts.
- Monitor and adjust machine setups as needed to meet production and quality goals.
- Enforce safety protocols, maintain a safe work environment, and promote best practices by proactively addressing potential hazards.
- Participate in recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new team members to maintain appropriate staffing levels for machining, assembly, and packaging operations.
- Address performance issues through coaching and progressive discipline, including disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy and labor law.
- Schedule and prioritize production orders across machining, assembly, and packaging to optimize workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to verify that precision parts and assembled products meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within ERP systems and related quality records.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve operational issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and packaging supplies to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with management to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity across all areas.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience in a CNC machine shop, assembly, or packaging environment.
- Hands-on experience with setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills.
- Proven background in lean manufacturing practices.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Other Skills:
- Understanding of ISO certifications and quality management systems.
- Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision measurements and fine detail work.
