Oncology RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN)

• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts/week (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: None (No weekends)
• On-call Requirement: None
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1920-$1970
• Charting System: EPIC (experience required)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; oncology nursing experience preferred
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio nursing license required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Proficient in EPIC charting
• Ability to float to other outpatient clinics as needed
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing
• First-time travel nurses accepted

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with kidney, prostate, bladder, and other GU cancers
• Administer chemotherapy (oral and injection), manage ports, and perform blood/blood product administration
• Conduct phlebotomy, IV starts, central/PICC line care, and Foley catheter management
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions, manage cytotoxic spills, and ensure safe handling of body fluids post-chemotherapy
• Support patients through post-surgical care, biopsies, and small in-clinic procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Float to other outpatient clinics within scope to meet facility needs
