Training Officer - CIT Program

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a GRANT FUNDED CIT Training Officer position.

This is a term limited position through December 31, 2026, funded by a grant. This position is available only when funding from the grant is available.

CIT Training Officer (grant-funded, limited term position): Under the supervision of the Director of Education & Training, participates in the development and implementation of the Crisis Intervention Team Training and Program to ensure continued education opportunities to law enforcement and the community. Assists with coordinating, scheduling and providing trainings, maintaining training databases and related records, and preparing reports for planning and analyses in accordance with reporting requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in social services, liberal arts, education, communication, or related fields.
  • Retired public safety personnel such as Law Enforcement, Dispatch or EMS may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience and participation in coordinating and implementing education and training activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in providing presentations, training and public speaking. Demonstrated experience and comfort in providing training to public safety personnel. Excellent organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access.
  • Be familiar and comfortable with utilizing various virtual platforms such as Zoom, WebEx and Teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the behavioral health system and the crisis intervention team program.
  • Office of Police Training Association Instructor
  • CIT Coordinator Instructor

The salary for this position is $59,283 - $60,468.66 . The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
