Schedule: 5 AM – 3 PM M-Thurs

Location: Kent, OH

Job Summary:
The Entry-Level Rubber Extruder / Compound Mixer is responsible for preparing and mixing rubber compounds according to specified formulas and assisting in the extrusion process. This role ensures materials are blended accurately, equipment is operated safely, and finished compounds meet quality standards. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure, weigh, and mix raw materials according to batch formulas and production schedules
• Operate and monitor mixing equipment (e.g., internal mixers, mills, or blenders)
• Feed mixed compounds into extrusion machines as required
• Perform basic extrusion tasks under supervision, including startup and shutdown procedures
• Inspect materials and finished compounds for quality, consistency, and defects
• Maintain accurate production and batch records
• Clean and maintain mixing and extrusion equipment
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and materials
• Assist with troubleshooting minor equipment or process issues
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow written instructions and formulas accurately
• Basic math skills (measuring, weighing, and calculations)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in environments with heat, noise, and industrial equipment
• Manual dexterity and ability to handle tools and machinery

Work Environment:

• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Exposure to raw materials, chemicals, and machinery
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Schedule:

• Full-time; may include shift work, overtime, or weekends depending on production needs

Pay Range:

• Entry-level hourly wage of $16.50, with a raise upon a hire. (Starts at $17.50+)
