Pay: $24- $26/hr

Summary:

The Senior Operator is the senior on-the-floor operator responsible for safe, efficient execution of production within their designated area. This role provides technical guidance to the team, supports line operations during the shift, and drives adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards. The Lead / Senior Operator partners closely with the Production Supervisor and escalates issues as needed but does not perform supervisory or disciplinary functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Line Execution & Coordination
• Complete shift hand-offs and line walk-throughs with the outgoing Senior Operator
• Review and ensure line readiness
• Perform start-of-shift checks for equipment condition, materials, and safe work environment
• Escalate safety, quality, staffing, or production issues to the Production Supervisor

Safety Leadership

• Serve as the safety champion for the area
• Reinforce safe work practices and proper PPE use
• Lead pre-task stretching/warm-up activities when applicable
• Monitor for unsafe conditions or behaviors and address immediately
• Stop work and escalate if unsafe conditions exist

Training & Development

• Train and coach employees on safe equipment operation, job tasks, GMPs, and ergonomic practices
• Support onboarding and cross-training of employees on the line
• Identify skill gaps and communicate training needs to the Production Supervisor

Quality & Food Safety Execution

• Verify required monitoring activities are completed accurately
• Support compliance with QCP, metal detector checks, labeling, product specifications, weights, and temperature controls
• Escalate out-of-spec conditions immediately

Changeovers & Equipment Readiness

• Verify proper setup during changeovers
• Ensure correct materials and ingredients are staged
• Coordinate with Maintenance on equipment issues

Communication & Coordination

• Communicate with Maintenance, Quality, and cross-functional teams as needed
• Inform Production Supervisor of downtime, waste, or support needs
