The Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor in Motor Control and Biomechanics to support a growing kinesiology program recognized for its high-impact learning environment, strong student engagement, and preparation for clinical and graduate pathways. The appointment is expected to begin in August 2026. Job Description The Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to support a growing kinesiology program recognized for its high-impact learning environment, strong student engagement, and preparation for clinical and graduate pathways. With sustained enrollment growth, the program emphasizes experiential instruction, faculty mentorship, and applied movement science education. The successful candidate will teach courses (4:4 load) in motor control, motor learning, biomechanics, and related areas of movement science. Anticipated teaching assignments may include Motor Skill Learning and Performance, Advanced Motor Control and Learning, Biomechanics, entry-level physical activity and health courses, and senior capstone experiences. Courses are delivered face-to-face and may include both lecture and laboratory formats. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, on-campus visiting position that requires regular campus presence and active engagement with students. The appointment is expected to begin in August 2026 and is for a fixed term. The mission of the College of Education, Health, and Society at Miami University is to prepare transformative leaders. Minimum Qualifications For the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor:
Ph.D. in motor control/biomechanics/exercise science or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment. For the rank of Instructor:
Master's degree in motor control/biomechanics/exercise science or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment. Consideration may be given to candidates with:
- Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching
- Experience teaching laboratory-based courses
- Ability to engage students in applied learning environments
