The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is searching for a Director of Data and Future Technology Division, NSIC (GG-0132-14). Description: We're looking for a talented leader to join the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. As the Director of the Data and Future Technology Division, you will lead the center‘s data, AI, technology, innovation, and modeling & simulation efforts. You will lead a team ready to take on technical challenges including data analytics, cybersecurity, networking, AI/ML, and cloud computing. As Director, you will represent NSIC as our Modeling and Simulation lead for the center, who publishes the strategy and balances work-loads across local and federated resources. You will integrate, document, and publish NSIC‘s data schema to achieve VAULTIS goals for our intelligence data. Finally, you will act as the NSIC Commander’s representative to quickly identify, filter and nominate relevant commercial technologies for adoption. Intelligence (ODNI). Ideal Candidate: Support the National Space intelligence Center’s mission to deliver game-changing intelligence and unmatched technical expertise to empower national leaders, joint force warfighters, and acquisition professionals to ensure freedom of access and maneuver in and through the space domain. Specifically, we seek a strong and communicative leader to accelerate NSIC's data, AI, technology, innovation, and modeling & simulation initiatives. This leader must effectively explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, fostering collaboration and team building to realize strategic vision and standardized technical implementation. Success requires strong problem-solving skills, cross-functional team leadership, and the ability to design data-driven technology solutions. A broad understanding of agency, DAF, DoD, and national-level guidelines and regulations is essential, along with knowledge of industry tools and methodologies, including: data analytics/management, cybersecurity, networking, AI/ML architectures and engineering, and design/integration of hybrid cloud solutions. The candidate must have prior federal civilian supervisory & leadership experience as well as a master’s or PhD degree that meets science, technology, engineering, and math requirements of the role. A practical assessment will be administered to validate technical qualifications. Common job titles that will correlate to this position include but are not limited to: Chief Data and AI Officer (CDO/CDAO), and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTO/CTIO). Key Skills and Abilities: Mission Knowledge and Policy Application: Thorough understanding of NSIC mission, customer needs, and IC/DoD policies and procedures to identify priorities, recommend adjustments in intelligence data strategy, and apply best business practices to managerial and technical challenges. Strategic Data Architecture and Policy Development: Expertise in providing strategic direction and technical guidance for data architecture development, sustainment, and enhancement aligned with organizational missions, goals, policies, and planning processes to meet current and future customer requirements. Project Management and Problem Solving: Proficient in applying project management principles to oversee major projects from initiation through completion; skilled in conducting comprehensive studies and developing solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Adept at delivering clear, concise, and technically accurate verbal presentations and written communications to senior leadership; skilled in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, negotiating complex issues, and resolving conflicts through mature judgment and professional experience. Collaboration and Influence: Ability to influence and work collaboratively across all organizational levels, fostering teamwork and building strong relationships with customers, information sources, and project teams to achieve common goals. Technological Awareness and Systems Integration: Understanding of how data architecture management integrates with NSIC system architecture to support operational workflows; committed to maintaining current awareness of technological advances to anticipate and meet future management needs. Requirements: 1. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 2. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance. 3. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. 4. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. 5. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours. 6. PCS / Incentive funding are authorized. 7. Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework" 8. Position will close in 5 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first). 9. Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Space Force-wide mobility agreement.10. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. 11 Incumbent may be subject to psychological screening/polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position. 12. Flexibility in scheduling workday is mandatory. 13. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in physical science, engineering, or mathematics is desired. A master's or advance degree in a related technical or professional discipline is highly desired. 14. Work place is an office setting and there are no unusual physical demands required beyond the ability to travel and operate automated data processing equipment. Position is subject to deployment to support crises and contingency operations.
