The IT Department is looking for an Integrations Lead to support Metros transition to Workday as its new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. This position will play a critical role in designing, building, testing, and supporting approximately 50 + identified system integrations between the new ERP platform and Metro’s existing business systems.

Working closely with implementation partners, internal IT staff, and business stakeholders, the Integrations Lead will analyze integration requirements, coordinate technical design, support development and testing activities, and help ensure that data flows between systems are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business needs. This role is essential to maintain operational continuity and data integrity throughout Metro’s ERP replacement, modernization initiative, and smooth ongoing operation post launch.


As the ERP Integrations Lead you will:

ERP Integration Design & Support

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for ERP-related system integrations.

  • Work with implementation partners to design, build, and test integrations between the ERP system and Metro’s internal and external applications.

  • Support the build of approximately 50+ identified integrations, ensuring they meet business, technical, and data quality requirements.

  • Analyze integration requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.

  • Post implementation, manage data mapping, transformation, and validation processes across inbound and outbound integrations ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

  • On going work leading end-to-end integration design, development, and maintain complex, enterprise-grade Workday integrations using Workday Studio, alongside Core Connectors, EIBs, Prism, and Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP APIs).


Systems Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Evaluate complex business processes and data flows to support effective integration design.

  • Lead investigations to detect, analyze, and resolve integration issues, data discrepancies, and system errors.

  • Rewrite, modify, or redesign integration components to correct problems and improve performance.


Data & Interface Management

  • Support data mapping, transformation, and validation activities.

  • Create detailed data mapping documents that define how data elements translate between source and target systems.

  • Work with database structures, files, and data models to ensure accurate data exchange between systems.

  • Partner with Report Strategist to design, build, and manage complex data flows to PRISM tool by blending Workday and external data, ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and providing strategic insights for HR/Finance.

  • Assist in defining, developing, analyzing, and modifying data structures as needed to support integrations.


Partner & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Partner with ERP implementation vendors and technical consultants to coordinate integration work.

  • Work with business users and IT staff to gather requirements, validate solutions, and schedule integration activities.

  • Translate business requirements into actionable integration plans.

  • Coordinate dependency mapping across different workstreams.

  • Participate in meetings, design sessions, and testing cycles related to ERP integrations.


Testing, Documentation & User Support

  • Support integration testing, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to integrations, data flows, processes, procedures and system interfaces

  • Support vendor and third-party relationships related to Workday integrations and enterprise systems.

  • Provide guidance and technical support to staff and stakeholders.

  • Provide individual and group instruction as needed related to system interfaces and data flows gathering feedback for improvements


Project & Organizational Support

  • Participate in large-scale ERP implementation and modernization projects.

  • Support Workday biannual releases, including impact analysis, testing, validation, and post-release support.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to less experienced staff as needed.

  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with Metro Integration team fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

  • 4-6 years of related professional experience in information systems, business intelligence, or data analytics, and

  • Bachelor’s degree, or

  • Any combination of education, professional, volunteer and lived experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.

Hybrid Telework

This position is based at the Metro Regional Center (MRC) and is expected to work onsite at MRC as well as at Metro’s external venues throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Due to the high level of collaboration and system activity associated with Metro’s ERP replacement and modernization efforts, this role will require frequent onsite presence over the next 18 months.

This position is designated as “hybrid telework.” You will be required to work onsite and at times have the option to work away from your assigned work location. The specific schedule and balance of onsite and telework will be discussed with the hiring manager at the time of offer. Employees must reside in Oregon or Washington to work at Metro. Please note, the designation of hybrid telework may be subject to change at a future time.

You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider them when identifying the most qualified candidates. Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience, including the military, or life experience that are relevant for this position.

  • Strong experience with flat file integrations (CSV, TXT, TBL, LIS, and Excel based file formats)

  • Experience with automated and scheduling integrations

  • Experience with EDI integrations

  • Previous experience with PeopleSoft or Workday

  • ERP integration experience supporting inbound and outbound interfaces between ERP systems and external/ internal applications.

  • Data Mapping and transformation experience

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND REPRESENTATON

The full-salary range for this position is step 1: $91,400.94 to step 7: $122,515.70. However, unless a candidate’s qualifications justify, based on the Oregon Pay Equity Act requirements and Metro’s internal equity review process, the appointment will likely be made between step 1: $91,400.94 to the equity range step 4: $105,815.81.

This position is not eligible for overtime and is represented by AFSCME 3580. It is classified as a Systems Analyst III position.
