Position Summary
The Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) provides support services to individuals with substance use disorders under the supervision of a licensed or certified clinician, in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 4758. This role assists in delivering evidence-based interventions, case management, and recovery support services in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in screening, intake, and orientation of clients
- Support development and implementation of individualized treatment plans under supervision
- Provide individual and group support services consistent with CDCA scope
- Document services in compliance with insurance and agency standards
- Monitor client progress and report to the supervising clinician
- Facilitate psychoeducation and recovery-oriented activities
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
- Participate in team meetings and clinical supervision
- Coordinate referrals and community resources
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid CDCA credential or be willing to complete required training
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work under supervision and follow clinical direction
Work Environment
This position is based in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and provides community-based services. Some evening or weekend hours may be required.
Compliance
All duties must comply with Ohio Administrative Code 4758, Ohio Department of Behavioral Health standards, CARF accreditation requirements (if applicable), and agency policies.
Salary
$20+ p/ hour
