Responsibilities:
Supervision of Music Therapists working in Behavioral Health and other community-based settings. Administrative tasks and support to Center Director in areas including but not limited to contract management, continuing education planning, HIPAA compliance, Center event planning, technology and instrument management, and Center enrollment. Planning and conducting data-based music therapy services at community locations and at The Music Settlement.
CMT provides clinical music therapy services for adults, teens, and children with physical, cognitive, developmental or multiple disabilities, mental health concerns, and trauma informed care in outreach settings and at The Music Settlement. Each music therapist is an employee of The Music Settlement and is a member of an experienced team of music therapists. The department provides a selection of musical instruments and equipment, access to audio/visual equipment, computers, and a music therapy library. As an approved provider of Continuing Music Therapy Education credits through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, the Center offers a program of relevant workshops and in-service training. In addition, we offer health insurance benefits, travel reimbursement, and paid time off.
Assignments:
Present assignments include adult mental health groups, groups and/or individual sessions at TMS Ohio City or University Circle Campuses. Assignments will vary depending on the time of year and agency partnerships available.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with Equivalency Degree in Music Therapy
State of Ohio Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT)
Music Therapist-Board-Certified (MT-BC)
Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a music therapist
Strong musical skills on a variety of instruments
Strong report writing and written communication skills
Must have excellent time management and communication skills
Previous experience working in behavioral health settings
Knowledge of cognitive behavioral, data-based approach
Experience on an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team
Must have valid driver’s license and access to a car for transportation to work sites
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Music Therapy or related field
Previous experience in a supervisory and/or administrative role
Previous experience writing for research-based studies and publications
Previous experience with grant writing procedures
Previous experience in contract management and development
Position Status: Full Time, Salaried
