Maintenance
The Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority (JMHA) is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician at various locations in and around Steubenville, Ohio.
Maintenance Techncians are responsible for performing routine and skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs at JMHA properties. Ensuring that buildings and facilities are well-maintained, safe, and in good working order. Duties include troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and responding to work orders promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks, including building and grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, to ensure the safety and functionality of JMHA properties.
Respond to work orders and maintenance requests, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and safety considerations.
Collaborate with team members to address complex maintenance challenges and complete larger repair projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Mininum of 2 years experience in construction trades or general maintenance, and/or completion of vocational trade program.
- Must be able to plan, organize and make sound judgements and decisions; perform basic general maintenance repairs with accuracy; operate a variety of handheld tools and devices.
- Valid drivers license and be insurable by our agency insurance carrier.
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm, a rotating on-call schedule and overtime as necessary dependent on agency need.
Additional Requirments:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to travel and work on-call rotation in the evenings and/or weekend.
- Comfortable conducting home repairs and inspections in various environments.
