Behavioral Health Works is an expanding company dedicated to responsible and sustainable growth. We are committed to delivering personalized ABA therapy for children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ABA therapy helps individuals with Autism improve socially significant behavior, following the principles of Behavior Analysis. Our extensively trained BCBAs, Case Supervisors, and Technician’s collaborate closely with parents to create tailored treatment plans that address the distinct requirements of each child.

Job Description:

The Clinical Director BCBA holds a master’s degree in psychology, applied behavior analysis, or a related field and maintains active BCBA certification or appropriate licensure in accordance with state regulations. Reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Operations, this role provides strategic clinical and operational leadership across an assigned region, overseeing BCBAs and ensuring consistent, high-quality, and compliant ABA services. The Clinical Director BCBA is responsible for establishing clinical standards, monitoring outcomes and key performance indicators, mentoring and performance-managing BCBAs, and ensuring adherence to payer, regulatory, and ethical requirements. Success in this role requires strong executive communication skills, proven leadership experience, and the ability to drive accountability, scalability, and clinical excellence across multiple locations.

Requirements for BCBA Clinical Director:

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to BCBAs, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and compliant ABA services across assigned locations.
  • Establish, standardize, and oversee behavior reduction and skill acquisition systems to drive consistent clinical outcomes and scalability.
  • Oversee BCBA productivity, supervision compliance, and authorization utilization in alignment with payer and organizational KPIs.
  • Review and approve clinical deliverables, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and timeliness.
  • Lead, mentor, and performance-manage BCBAs and supervisory staff, supporting professional development, retention, and succession planning.
  • Partner with executive and operations leadership to implement regional initiatives, improve efficiency, and support organizational growth.
  • Ensure regional compliance with BACB ethics, state regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies; maintain audit readiness.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex clinical, staff, and family concerns, providing strategic solutions and risk mitigation.
  • Promote evidence-based practice by disseminating research, best practices, and clinical standards across the region.
  • Monitor documentation, billing practices, and clinical systems (e.g., CentralReach) to ensure data integrity and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, child development, special education, applied behavior analysis, or a related field
  • Active BCBA certification (or qualified licensed healthcare professional status, as permitted by state regulations)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams and priorities
  • Commitment to upholding the organization’s mission, values, and ethical standards
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role overseeing BCBAs or clinical teams
  • Experience with clinical site operations and staff management
  • Demonstrated executive leadership in designing, standardizing, and overseeing behavior reduction and skill acquisition systems across regions, driving measurable clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and consistency in service delivery while supporting organizational growth.
  • Progressive advancement from direct clinical service into senior supervisory and regional leadership roles, bringing a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations, workforce development, and performance management to lead and scale high-performing teams.
