Private Events Manager
MARKET GARDEN BREWERY
Private Events Manager
ONE OF A KIND......ONE OF A KIND DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY DAY.
Market Garden Brewery isn't a single restaurant with an event room tucked in the back. It's a one-of-a-kind, multi-concept hospitality campus in the heart of Ohio City — one of Cleveland's and the Midwest’s most celebrated neighborhoods — built around craft beer, exceptional food, and the kind of energy that makes guests come back week after week. We are Market Garden Brewpub, Taproom & Production Brewery, Bright Side & Bird of Paradise, and Nano Brew Cleveland & Clandestina & Smoke & Mirrors: four distinct concepts, twelve-plus event spaces, and a campus that generates over 200,000 guest visits annually and approaches $10 million in revenue. We love the business of creating “magic moments” for our guests every day of the year….
We host everything — intimate rehearsal dinners in candlelit rooms, sold-out comedy shows, corporate buyouts, fashion shows, VIP bottle service nights, wedding after-parties, healthcare fundraisers, and neighborhood run clubs that end with a cold pint. Events are not a side business here. They are a core revenue engine, and the right leader will have the runway to build something substantial.
We are looking for a seasoned Private Events Manager who already knows how to sell, close, and deliver — someone who will walk in on Day 1 and own a $750,000+ annual book of business with the ambition and skill to grow it significantly.
THE ROLE
You will be the primary point of contact for every traditional (private) event inquiry that comes through our campus — corporate gatherings, rehearsal dinners, birthday celebrations, fundraisers, holiday buyouts, wedding-adjacent events, and everything in between. You are not a coordinator waiting to be told what to do. You are a sales-first event professional who builds guest relationships, closes business, and executes flawlessly.
You'll work alongside our Curated Events Manager, chefs, and our management team…and report directly to the owners and general management. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role in a campus where great performance is noticed and rewarded.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the full sales cycle: respond to every inquiry fast, conduct memorable venue walk-throughs, present compelling proposals, and close business with confidence.
- Manage and grow a private events book currently exceeding $750,000 annually across 4 venues and 12+ event spaces.
- Build and maintain genuine relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, event coordinators, and community organizations — and bring them back year after year.
- Create and deliver detailed event documentation in Tripleseat and Toast Events so every event executes beautifully, with or without you on-site.
- Proactively reach out to past guests, lost leads, and potential partners — you don't wait for the phone to ring.
- Upsell the full campus experience: walk-through add-ons, bar packages, VIP bottle service at Bird of Paradise, brewery tours, before-and-after programming.
- Collaborate closely with our Curated Events Manager on wraparound opportunities and shared campus nights.
- Attend and support events on weekends and evenings as needed — this role requires showing up when it matters most.
- Bring ideas. Know what works at other venues and what could work here. Help us get better.
YOU ARE
The ideal candidate comes in ready. You have already built your sales instincts, your CRM discipline, your closing rhythm, and your ability to manage a full pipeline. You are :

✓ Highly organized — you don't lose leads, you don't miss details, and your Tripleseat/CRM is always current.
✓ A natural relationship-builder — guests trust you, remember you, and refer you.
✓ A hospitality professional at heart — you love food, love beer ,!! and can speak authentically about the craft behind both.
✓ Calm under pressure and fast on your feet — things change, events shift, and you handle it without drama.
✓ A communicator who is equally strong in writing and in person — your proposals look polished and your tours are memorable.
✓ Collaborative and team-oriented — you work well with chefs, managers, marketing, and your curated events counterpart.
