Mother/Baby RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio travel nursing)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Postpartum Unit (Family-Centered Care)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (09/22/2025 – 12/22/2025)
• Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,720 - $1,770 per week
• Patient Population: Neonates, Adults (Mother/Baby dyads)
• Unit Census: 40-bed unit, average daily census of 60
• Weekend Coverage: Required (every other weekend)
• Floating: May float to similar acuity units within the healthcare organization

Mother/Baby RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent postpartum (Mother/Baby) RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio RN license required)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• IV certification and strong IV start skills
• Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Mother/Baby RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including assessment, education, and discharge planning
• Administer medications and IV therapies (antibiotics, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives)
• Offer breastfeeding support and newborn care education to parents
• Monitor for postpartum complications (hemorrhage, wound infection, preeclampsia)
• Care for healthy newborns and infants with special needs (NAS, low birth weight)
• Perform newborn assessments, metabolic screening, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV team, physical therapy, social services, pharmacy)
• Float to other nursing units with similar acuity as needed
