Banking Equipment Technician (Cleveland, OH)
Primary Function / Summary
Perform installation, service, and preventative maintenance on banking and branch equipment with a primary focus on non-ATM assets such as vaults, safes, safety deposit boxes, night depositories, cash drawers, pneumatic drive-up systems (VAT lanes), and mechanical and electronic locking hardware.
The technician will also support drive-through audio systems , including wiring and sound configuration for customer interaction at bank branches. Limited ATM service work may be required, but ATM support is not the primary function of this role.
Responsibilities
Deliver a world-class customer experience in active banking and financial institution environments
Install, service, and maintain banking equipment including:
Vaults and vault components
Safes and safety deposit box systems
Night drops and depository units
Cash drawers and teller equipment
Mechanical and electronic locks, including re-keying
Install, service, and troubleshoot pneumatic drive-up systems (VAT lanes) , including tubing, terminals, and associated components
Perform ladder work on VAT lanes and drive-up equipment as required
Install, wire, and service drive-through audio and communication systems for customer interaction
Perform low-voltage wiring, mounting, and setup related to banking and branch equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic electronic issues and complete repairs
Perform preventative maintenance per service agreements and manufacturer specifications
Provide limited installation and service support for ATM equipment as needed
Complete site surveys to validate conditions in support of project bids and proposals
Accurately document all service activity, work performed, and call notes using electronic applications
Communicate job status and updates with management, dispatch, customers, and internal teams
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in proper working condition (company expense)
Interact with customers professionally and represent the company with integrity
Skills and Qualifications
Required
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, low-voltage, and basic electronic systems
Experience servicing banking or physical security equipment
Comfort working on ladders and at height, particularly on drive-up and VAT lane systems
Ability to work in active bank branch environments
Proficiency with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office products
Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and DMV record check
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driverâs license
Preferred
Experience with vaults, safes, safety deposit boxes, night drops, or pneumatic systems
Locksmithing experience, including re-keying and lock hardware service
Low-voltage cabling experience
Familiarity with drive-through audio or intercom systems
ATM service experience (preferred but not required)
Access control or door hardware experience
Basic understanding of IP data networks
Associate degree or relevant industry certifications
