Maintenance/Custodian

Hours: Full-Time (12-month) - 260 days, 2080 hours

• Bulk of scheduled work will be performed during a regular daytime schedule, with willingness to work a flexible schedule and/or overtime as needed for emergency maintenance or special events

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary training in a trade is desirable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, full-time work experience in building/facility maintenance or equivalent
• Knowledge of construction, repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities and grounds. Ability to make plumbing, electrical, carpentry, concrete, HVAC, and mechanical repairs, as well as basic exterior and interior painting. Professional certifications/licenses in area(s) preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities; must be able to pass a maintenance skills assessment
• Physical ability to perform the required work; meets all mandated health requirements
• Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
• Current valid driver’s license, no disqualifying citations
• Ability to function as a team member, work cooperatively with other staff members, and take instruction well
• Ability to take initiative to perform tasks independently
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
• Must be able to pass BCI/FBI background checks and drug screen
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Compensation: Per union negotiated salary schedule
