Essential Functions

Primary Responsibilities: Facilitates learning primarily in the clinical, skills lab, and/or simulation lab by assessing the
learning needs of the student, planning for the achievement of educational outcomes, implementing student learning
activities and evaluating student achievement. Promotes learner development and socialization to the role of the
nurse by providing resources to diverse learners and initiating appropriate referrals for students with academic difficulties.
Participates effectively in continuous quality improvement, curriculum design and evaluation of
program outcomes reflective of evidence-based practice, the school philosophy, and the university mission and vision.

Teaching expectations include clinical, skills lab or simulation lab. Clinical and labs are all face-to-face. Clinicals are off-site
within the Northwest Ohio area and will require driving to a variety of sites. Typical clinical hours range from 6:00 a.m. to
11:00 p.m. Lab hours range from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or later. Evenings or weekends may be required. The teaching
workload for a non-tenure track (qualified rank) faculty member is 80%. Grading of student paperwork is expected
within defined time spans and may require evenings or weekends to complete. Opportunities for classroom instruction
(in both traditional and online formats) will be limited and available only as programmatic needs arise.

service, community service, committee representation at the School, College, or University level, and student
recruitment activities.
