Job Description

The Telecom Engineer will design, configure, manage, troubleshoot, support and implement the Telecom Infrastructure. Will also perform limited project management with some coordination of efforts by various support staff. Communicates project status to project proponents. Assists with the deployment of telecom technology. Exercises independent judgment. Under general direction works on complex technical issues. Receptive to new ideas and to learning new technologies. Plans and leads small projects and performs project management coordinating the efforts of internal and external staff with the customer and business needs. Works on projects and tasks with other team members and may be asked to provide input to their evaluations. Occasionally works under stressful conditions, participating in implementations and troubleshooting efforts that may have significant patient care and/or financial impact to the organization. In addition, the candidate will be part of a 24/7 on-call support rotation spread among the team members.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Setup :

Install, test, and configure telecommunication equipment, including phones, phone systems, routers, switches, and other related hardware.

Provide necessary cabling and wiring for phone, internet, and other communication services.

Maintenance and Repairs :

Perform routine maintenance on telecommunication equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot issues with communication systems, identifying problems such as faulty equipment, connectivity issues, or configuration errors.

Testing and Quality Control :

Conduct diagnostic tests on telecommunications systems to ensure they meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Customer Service and Support :

Provide technical support and guidance to customers, explaining how to use telecommunication systems and resolve issues.

Assist with troubleshooting calls.

Maintain accurate records of installation work, repairs, and maintenance services provided.

Document system configurations and changes made during repairs or upgrades.

Report any recurring issues or patterns to management to improve service quality.

Collaboration and Coordination :

Work closely with peers and other team members to resolve complex issues.

Collaborate with vendors and suppliers.

Upgrades and Network Improvements :

Assist in the upgrading of existing telecommunication systems and infrastructure.

Recommend solutions to improve system performance or efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge : Understanding of telecommunications systems (e.g., fiber optics, VoIP, Wi-Fi, Cisco , VoiceCall Manager, Finese, Jabber) and relevant equipment.

  • Problem-Solving : Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

  • Attention to Detail : Accuracy in installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure system reliability.

  • Physical Stamina : Ability to work in different environments, including at heights or in tight spaces.

Work Environment:

  • Work may be performed in both indoor office settings and outdoor environments.

  • May involve on-call shifts or overtime work, depending on customer needs.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills to ensure effective telecommunication services.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $19.62 to $38.32 per hour; from: $40,800 to $79,700 per annum.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
