Patient Access Representative I - Emergency Department

In this position, you will provide a comprehensive set of business and financial related services during the patient access process on the day the patient arrives at Marymount Hospital to receive healthcare services. You will work face-to-face with diverse populations of patients collecting their financial, insurance, medical, and demographic information to complete their registration and leave a positive, lasting impression. Come build a rewarding, lifelong career at a diverse and welcoming hospital where caregivers recognize, support and celebrate one another. **A caregiver in this position works part-time, 20-hours per week 9:00pm-6:00am, 2-3 days per week, with rotating full weekend and holiday coverage.** **Initial new hire training will take place onsite for up to two months, followed by a transition to a remote work schedule.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial + Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register + Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers. + Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role OR an Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree + Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
