Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 annually
The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA at seeks a motivated, well-organized, and energetic individual to fill the position of Vice President, Development Finance . This position is critical to the continued success of CDFA's education, advocacy, research, resources, and networking efforts. This position leads CDFA's development finance practice and is responsible for ensuring CDFA delivers on its research projects, resource collection, educational offerings, partnerships, and content creation. This is an exciting and high-profile opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic development finance expert to contribute to a great organization, working to create economic prosperity across the country. This position is located in Columbus, OH and reports directly to the President & CEO.
The Vice President, Development Finance is a proven development finance expert with the ability to lead technical projects and support fellow CDFA team members to deliver CDFA's research projects, resource collection, educational offerings, partnerships, and content creation. This includes developing programs, products, and services, managing of special research projects, producing of key research reports, teaching in the CDFA Training Institute, speaking at conferences, webinars, etc., and contributing to research and technical assistance efforts.
More specifically, the Vice President, Development Finance will work with CDFA colleagues to perform the following tasks:
? Developing new programs, products, and services offered by CDFA
? Conducting research projects for various initiatives and grants
? Collecting resources and crafting technical development finance literature
? Contributing as a technical expert on CDFA research and technical assistance projects
? Facilitating and teaching courses offered by the CDFA Training Institute
? Writing research reports on various development finance tools
? Reviewing research reports produced by CDFA team members for clarity and accuracy
? Assisting with grant proposals to philanthropic and federal funders
? Serving on national committees to represent the development finance industry and CDFA's initiatives
? Working with CDFA members and local communities to improve their development finance programs and offerings
? Delivering technical presentations at CDFA events and other national industry convenings
? Representing CDFA on behalf of the President & CEO when needed.
? Preparing visual presentations
?And, assisting with other duties and special projects as assigned by the President & CEO.
Significant travel is required with approximately 10-12 trips per year as determined by CDFA.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have 10+ years of experience and be familiar with the principles of development finance (bonds, tax increment finance, revolving loan funds, tax credits, etc.) with targeted expertise in the industry. Previous financing experience or employment with a development finance agency is desired. A bachelor's degree is required. Candidates should have excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills. In addition, candidates should have strong organizational skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office, working on the internet and using email routinely. Candidates must possess the technical expertise, writing and research, surveying and associated skills commensurate with a position of this nature.
The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work independently, with strong written and interpersonal skills, and a high energy level. The ability to work under deadlines and successfully handle multiple priorities and excellent relationship-building skills is a must. Possessing great communication skills including listening and providing feedback is required. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment and contribute to all of the Council's initiatives.
While performing the functions of this job the employee is continuously required to talk or hear. Must be able to sit and frequently look at a computer screen for extended periods of time. Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
CDFA is currently a hybrid office in which employees work two to three days per week onsite in our downtown Columbus office and the remaining days remotely. As such, candidates must be able to work unsupervised; have reliable internet, email, and phone access (a laptop computer and software will be provided); and have a workspace/environment that does not hinder the candidate's ability to perform their work and is conducive to having uninterrupted business calls, online meetings, etc.
