Position: Fire Medic

Location: Creston, Ohio

Department: Canaan Township Fire Department

Employment Type: Full-Time 24 on – 48 off

Salary Range: $50,000 to $57,000, plus benefits based on qualifications

Role Overview: As a Fire Medic, you will serve as a dual-role firefighter and paramedic, responding to fire, medical, and rescue emergencies. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that values integrity, courage, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergency calls including fires, medical incidents, and hazardous situations
• Provide advanced life support (ALS) care in accordance with local protocols
• Operate and maintain firefighting and medical equipment
• Participate in fire prevention, public education, and community outreach
• Maintain readiness through ongoing training and physical fitness
• Collaborate with other emergency services and healthcare providers

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Ohio Paramedic card
• Certified Firefighter II
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass physical agility test, background check, and drug screening
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
