Bartender

Position Summary
Bartenders are high-energy team players who will mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests, making suggestions based on the customer’s tastes and preferences. Bartenders will create a positive atmosphere and provide excellent customer service. Bartenders have an extensive knowledge of drinks which they use to make recommendations and prepare drinks.

Job duties and responsibilities
- Perform proper bar procedure, etiquette, and recipes.
- Mix, garnish, and serve beverages and food to customers.
- Check inventory and restock alcohol, mixers, and garnishes as needed.
- Help customers choose menu items or guide them through drink options.
- Handle customer complaints, requests, and questions on food and beverage served in store.
- Verify age of customers by checking identification documents.
- Maintain familiar relationships with the customers to drive repeated business.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to customers, balancing the cash register.
- Complete assigned cleaning duties to ensure the bar and front of house are clean and well maintained.
- Ensure tables are cleaned and clear of leftover food and drinks after customers have left.
- Interacts with and listens to customers attentively and enthusiastically.
- Displays caring and empathy for customers and follows correct steps when resolving complaints.
- Contributes to the team morale by displaying enthusiasm and commitment by word and action.
- Ensures customers receive their orders accurately and timely.
- Understand and follow the food safety & personal hygiene standards required by Donatos and the local Health Department.
Minimum requirements
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position safely while meeting productivity standards
- Able to stand and/or walk entire shift
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Occasional bending and twisting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Education
- Basic Math and Reading Skills necessary
Work Experience
- Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails.
- Previous experience in a hospitality or food and beverage position.
- Knowledge of applicable state laws and regulations
