Estimator
Location: Columbus, OH
Compensation: $75-115K base salary, depending on experience
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off
A leading civil construction company specializing in utilities, paving, and sitework is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This role offers a chance to work on a variety of projects that make a real impact in the community while being part of a company known for its strong reputation and family-oriented culture.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects including utilities, paving, grading, and site development
Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine scope and requirements
Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with actual job requirements
Analyze historical data, unit pricing, and production rates to improve estimating accuracy
Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and project handoff to operations
Qualifications:
3+ years of estimating and/or project management experience at a civil or sitework contractor
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost structures for utility, paving, and sitework projects
Proficient in estimating software and Excel
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
