The Field Sales Technician is responsible for supporting sales efforts through on-site technical demonstrations, customer training, equipment troubleshooting, and product education. This hybrid role combines technical expertise with customer-facing sales activities to promote and support Hi-Vac’s product line. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, hands-on problem solver who thrives in a field environment and has strong communication and technical skills.

• Provide on-site technical support, including product demonstrations, start-ups, and training to customers and distributors.

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate Hi-Vac equipment and solutions.

• Assist in preparing quotes, proposals, and technical documentation.

• Support trade shows, industry events, and customer visits as a technical representative.

• Conduct equipment inspections and minor repairs during field visits.

• Gather customer feedback and communicate technical issues or improvement suggestions to engineering and product development teams.

• Maintain knowledge of product specifications, applications, and competitive offerings.

• Assist with post-sale support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify future opportunities.

• Document all customer interactions, service activities, and feedback using CRM or designated systems.

• Travel extensively within assigned territory (and occasionally beyond) as required.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in field service, sales, or technical support in industrial equipment or a related industry.

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment in the field.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Preferred:

• Experience with vacuum trucks, hydro-excavators, or sewer cleaning equipment.

• Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

• CDL or willingness to obtain CDL (Class B with air brakes).

• Regular exposure to industrial and outdoor environments.

• May be required to lift and move heavy equipment (50+ lbs).
