Summary:
Kidsport staff assists in the intra-hospital transport of pediatric and adult patients as directed by standard work.
Responsibilities:
- Recognizes changes in patient status and notifies appropriate personnel during intra-hospital transports.
- Assists with procedures and monitors patients during procedures according to departmental standards of care and practice.
- Assists other staff members with inpatient care and movement/repositioning of patients. Follows the direction of Nurse regarding mode of transport for child.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psych/ social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Medical Assistant; Patient Care assistant; Nursing assistant or Student nurse experience is preferred
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in Transport software and phone communication preferred
Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: current Health Care Provider BLS training is required.
- Years of experience: 6 months or more is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None
