The Applications Engineer II will be serving as the liaison between our product offerings and customers, providing technical support throughout the sales and implementation process. Additionally, the Applications Engineer II is responsible for supporting customer needs, product demonstrations, and delivering technical solutions for customer satisfaction including setup, troubleshooting, and installation of our centrifuge equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide inside sales and process support, including design engineering, preparation of equipment, and system cost estimates to customers across industries in various applications
- Review technical and commercial specifications for centrifuge projects, clarify project scope, and identify areas of non-compliance to support the sales team
- Generate accurate costs and clarifications highlighting clarifications and exceptions for cross-functional team members to include with proposal
- Collaborate with international counterparts to select appropriate equipment solutions for our customer requirements
- Work closely with the procurement team to source ancillary equipment and estimate costs for system subcomponents.
- Maintain accurate project information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, Salesforce
- Support order entry providing all appropriate documentation
- Provide ongoing technical support to customers, sales representatives, and OEM’s.
- Support the development and maintenance of sales tools such as competitive analysis, presentations, specifications, and proposal templates
- Demonstrate proficiency in product capabilities, features, benefits, and effectively select equipment suitable for various applications
- Maintain competitive knowledge regarding key market competitors
- Support Engineering and Process team in laboratory testing activities.
- Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional and trade show materials.
- Support the Aftermarket team with diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment problems in the field.
- Travel with the sales team as requested to support market development and for project meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 5+ years’ experience or combination of education and technical experience in a similar field
- Strong attention to detail and proactive
- Ability to effectively communicate across all functions both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities of a time-sensitive nature.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Strong experience designing in CAD or SolidWorks
- Participate in industry trade shows as required
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
