Entry Level Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to add to an already strong accounting and payroll team to help support future growth. This role will assist with payroll processing, recordkeeping, and basic accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong willingness to learn, excellent organizational skills, and a foundational understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes. We are looking for someone who will make process and policy suggestions when opportunities to improve are found.
This position is responsible for various functions including, but not limited to:
- Assisting in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintaining payroll records, including employee hours, wages, add-ons and deductions.
- Assisting in organizing and maintaining employee records related to payroll, benefits, and tax documents.
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll and accounting-related matters.
- Satisfying payroll verification requests for current and former employees.
- Updating certified payroll reporting through our ERP system and systems such as LCP Tracker.
- Supporting accounts receivable functions such as cash receipt posting and deposits.
- Supporting accounts payable functions such as AP entry and routing for approval.
- Other duties assigned as necessary to achieve department goals and initiatives
Do you have what it takes?
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. BA or BS degree with an emphasis in Accounting preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience in accounting and/or payroll, prior work in construction or with union payroll is preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite - Advanced knowledge of Excel (Vlookups, formulas, etc.) is a required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have strong organizational skills to handle the variety of tasks assigned.
- Must always exhibit a positive attitude and be a quick learner with a thirst for knowledge.
