Platform Administrator
Description
The Platform Administrator for Enterprise Information Management (EIM) team will work with the larger team to help in the design, development, administration, configuration, and support of Huntington's data platforms, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals.
Detailed Description:
This role is an entry level position that requires the individual to have the aptitude to learn and to participate in the overall platform administration, including installations, implementations, configuration, maintenance coordination, problem resolution, testing, usage, and performance monitoring of the team's efforts.
To be successful the candidate must be driven and well-organized, with strong learning abilities. It is essential for the individual to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and complete tasks on agreed schedules. The team will look to this individual to aid in all activities including problem identification and resolution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of administration for Huntington's data platforms
- Participate in the identification and resolution of production and platform issues
- Participate in platform capacity planning, metrics, and tuning recommendations
- Collaborate with storage, server, LDAP, database, and other IT administrators to support ongoing operations for meeting the business needs
- Participate in the provisioning of tools and environments, including but not limited to metadata identities, users, groups, and roles
- Participate in ensuring the platform is positioned for compliance with IT policies, standards, and agreed upon service levels
- Participate in on call support as required
- Participate in the debugging and resolution of issues found during testing
- Work with technical teams interfacing with the platform
- Create and maintain system documentation, manuals, policy documents, etc.
- May lead small enhancement efforts and small projects
- Schedule and facilitate meetings as needed
- Research and analyze production support issues
- Actively communicate with users and team to provide technical support
- Participates with team to establish target dates and complete activities/deliverables under changing conditions
- Participates in production releases and the team's on-call rotation as scheduled
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 year of programming experience with a bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, information systems, math, engineering, etc.) or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with application development
- Experience with/basic knowledge of AWS or GCP Cloud
- Experience with or knowledge of AIX, UNIX, and/or LINUX
- Knowledge of or understanding of database design schemas and data modeling
- Experience with DataStage or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Strong technical skills and a good understanding of software development principles
- Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Technical writing capability
- Ability to translate technology into relatable concepts for business partners and stakeholders
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively with all business and IT areas
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- High level of professionalism, confidence, and ability to build credibility with team members and business partners
- A good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards
- Experience with AWS, Azure, Google is a plus
- Experience with Anomalo - Data Quality, Data Connect
- Experience with or knowledge of SAS, InfoGix, or Data Administration
- Experience with or knowledge of Ruby/Cucumber
- Experience with internal and 3rd party data sources
- Agile experience is a plus
