KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, distribute, and implement the Project Site Specific Safety Plan.
• Manage and coordinate the overall Project Site Safety Program delivery process.
• Identification of the initial on-site or off-site initial treatment facility for immediate control of claim, maintain communication with this location.
• Implement Site Safety Orientation program for all new trades coming on site.
• Field presence – walking the site to look for safety issues vs. production / schedule.
• Maintain positive relationship with field personnel surrounding safety.
• Maintain relationships with all Trade Safety personnel, engage them regularly.
• Receive and consolidate safety performance reporting.
• Monitor safety performance and reporting for the project.
• Monitor / analyze accident information and safety performance statistics for action.
• Supervise safety program administration and audit the safety management process.
• Monitor safety training and certification program, verifying certification for certain specialties, and conducting periodic training where qualified.
• Monitor Return-to-Work program and support claims management process.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure subcontractors are holding their safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Promote and facilitate Safety Task Analysis process.
• Promote and facilitate Job Hazard Analysis process.
• Develop Emergency Evacuation Plan, ensure broad communication, and conduct drills.

• Other duties as assigned.
• Conducts actions in a professional and unbiased manner.
• Complies with all company and site policies and best practice standards.
• Continuously develops proficiency and understanding in the role.
• Maintains a professional appearance and workspace.
• Participates in and complies with all company safety and quality programs and procedures.
• Utilizes relevant Welty Technology to support all assigned responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• General competency utilizing Microsoft Suite and general computer applications a must.
• First Aid / CPR training experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management.
• Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.

EDUCATION

• College degree in related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years’ experience in Construction Field Safety
• Ability and willingness to travel for out of state projects as needed

CERTIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• First Aid / CPR certification required.
• Additional specialty safety certifications preferred.
• Successful completion of company training and role-specific professional development coursework, within required timeframe (Required).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
• May require periods of overnight travel.
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project demands.
• Normal office environment, but may also be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Frequent activity: Walking, Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.
• Occasional activity: Standing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing.
