A day on the road
Start by preparing your rig for a safe, efficient run. You’ll conduct thorough DOT-compliant pre-trip inspections, review itineraries and route numbers, check trailer temperatures, and confirm your vehicle is road‑ready. Once you roll, you’ll follow assigned routes and delivery schedules to bring customer orders in on time.
At each stop, you’ll log precise arrival and departure times using an electronic timekeeping system, assess the delivery site for hazards, ensure safe unloading conditions, verify orders with customers, and capture required signatures. When assigned, you’ll pick up backhauls from vendors before returning.
Back at the yard, you’ll complete post‑trip steps: fuel up, unhook and secure trailers, finalize DOT logs, DVIRs, and any maintenance documentation. You’ll also participate in scheduled company meetings, safety trainings, and compliance assessments while consistently following all company safety policies, driving standards, and operational procedures.
