Withdrawal Management Clinician
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments within 24 hours of client admission.
- Monitor mental status and assess for co-occurring mental health conditions throughout the withdrawal process.
- Provide clinical support including individual counseling, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure alignment with ASAM criteria.
- Collaborate with medical staff to monitor client progress and adjust care planning as appropriate.
- Facilitate discharge planning and care coordination to residential, outpatient, MAT, or other appropriate services.
- Conduct family or support system engagement when appropriate to enhance recovery outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Participate in daily team huddles and treatment planning meetings.
- Support a trauma-informed, person-centered model of care aligned with 3.7 withdrawal management standards.
- Educate clients on the withdrawal process, medication protocols, and recovery planning.
- Strong working knowledge of ASAM criteria, withdrawal management protocols, and substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.
- Clinical competence in brief interventions, assessment, and crisis response.
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and harm reduction principles.
- Licensed in the State of Ohio as an LSW, LPC, or higher. Independent licensure (LISW, LPCC) preferred.
- Two years’ experience working with substance use disorders, preferably in detox or withdrawal settings.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Intervention (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft Office.
