Process Development Engineer — Defense Build-to-Print Manufacturing

Picture your day at General Tool Company (GTC), part of Aeron Defense: you begin with a customer solicitation, translate complex requirements into a practical, cost-effective plan, and ensure every step is clear for production control and the manufacturing floor. By afternoon, you’re advising machinists on process nuances, optimizing fixturing, and finding ways to expedite high-precision parts without compromising quality. Your work directly supports critical aerospace and defense programs—and national mission readiness.

What you’ll do

• Assess and respond to RFQs to strengthen quality, throughput, and understanding of customer specifications.
• Create detailed routers and determine efficient routing through the shop; seek opportunities to accelerate schedules responsibly.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to supervisors, machinists, and fabricators across CNC and advanced fabrication processes.
• Identify and define fixturing and special tooling requirements to meet build-to-print tolerances.
• Deliver complete documentation packages to production control to drive flawless execution against contract requirements.

What you bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced experience in an engineering capacity building products via CNC machining or highly advanced fabrication.
• Background in defense or aerospace manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Required: working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with sharp attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear, professional communication and the ability to partner across all organizational levels.

Location, employment type, and ownership

• Onsite in Cincinnati, OH — must be local or open to relocation.
• Full-time, direct hire (not a contract role).
