DESCRIPTION:As an Engineer II, Packaging/Labeling at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to ensuring effective execution of packaging and labeling processes for our products. You'll work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement efficient packaging solutions that meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to support continuous improvement initiatives, develop solutions, and contribute to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working with advanced technology and equipment, you'll provide technical expertise in packaging design, process optimization, and problem-solving. You'll develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validate processes, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical work, offering opportunities to enhance capabilities and support team members while contributing to projects. REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience required, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in packaging/labeling engineering, preferably in pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated industries
• Preferred Fields of Study: Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, and label printing technologies
• Expertise in GMP requirements and regulatory compliance standards
• Experience with packaging validation and documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Proven ability to develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant design software
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Basic to intermediate English language proficiency (verbal and written)
• May require occasional travel and work in controlled environments (e.g., cleanroom)
