Salem Design and Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for assembling, wiring, and plumbing custom machinery and equipment in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in both mechanical and electrical assembly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and systems using a variety of hand and power tools
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly specifications
• Perform machine wiring, including routing, terminating, and labeling electrical components
• Layout and assemble electrical control panels, including device mounting and organization
• Install and connect pneumatic and fluid systems (machine plumbing)
• Align, fit, and adjust components to ensure proper operation
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during assembly and testing
• Perform functional testing of completed assemblies
• Assist with machine startup, debugging, and commissioning
• Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams to resolve issues
• Document assembly processes, updates, and deviations from design

Required Qualifications

• Experience in machine assembly
• Experience with machine wiring and electrical systems
• Experience with machine plumbing (pneumatic and/or fluid systems)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications (Plus)

• Welding experience
• Background in automation or custom machine building
• Familiarity with industrial controls and instrumentation
