Principal Solutions Engineer- AI (Onsite at Client)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Leading EDJE seeks a highly skilled Senior AI Software Engineer to design and implement advanced AI solutions that push the boundaries of innovation. This role would require capabilities in the areas of design and development of intelligent systems, including agentic AI utilizing technologies such as A2A and MCP and AI orchestration..We’re looking for someone passionate about building autonomous, context-aware AI applications that enhance productivity and decision-making across the enterprise. The ideal candidate thrives in solving complex problems, embraces continuous learning, and is eager to transform cutting-edge AI research into practical, real-world solutions.

This is a full-time client facing role that requires the team member to be onsite five days a week in the Columbus, Ohio area for the duration of the initial client assignment, which is currently undetermined. While the position is ideally W2, we are also open to considering qualified 1099 contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and debugging of enterprise applications beyond AI/ML.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Apply best practices in software development to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions.

• Communicate technical information, including complex AI concepts, clearly and effectively to non-technical team members and business stakeholders.

• Demonstrate adaptability and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.

• Contribute to a culture of innovation through knowledge sharing, mentoring junior engineers, and promoting best practices.

• Apply creative problem-solving and rapid prototyping to novel use cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 10+ years of experience developing complex systems with a strong foundation in software engineering practices (e.g., DevSecOps, MLOps).

• 2+3 years of hands-on AI/ML development experience with a strong software engineering foundation.

• Proficiency in one or more core development ecosystems (e.g., .NET, Java, or comparable platforms), with emphasis on writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Proven expertise with LLMs (e.g., Mistral, Llama, Claude, Gemini) and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or OpenAI Function Calling and utilizing protocols such as A2A and MCP.

• Strong programming experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and experience deploying AI in enterprise environments.

• Demonstrated success in building enterprise-ready AI solutions

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.

• Experience mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

• Knowledge of ethical AI principles and responsible deployment practices.
