What You'll Do as an Equipment Field Mechanic:
- Work on various equipment, including boom lifts, excavators, dozers, and other construction-related equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, & repair equipment malfunctions on job sites and at customer locations within 90 minutes of our shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the equipment is in good working order and minimize downtime for our customers.
- Communicate regularly with the Service Manager to ensure all service requests are processed efficiently.
- Document all repairs and parts used on work orders.
- Restock vehicles, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Train and mentor lower-level technicians on repairs and service tasks.
- Work full-time, Monday through Friday, starting at 6:30 AM (45-50 hours per week).
Our Ideal Equipment Field Mechanic:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a mechanic (auto, equipment, or diesel mechanic). Must possess advanced mechanical aptitude, full comprehension of gas and diesel engine functionality, and proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical repairs.
- Licensed: Must possess a valid "C" Class driver's license with a clean record. A commercial driver's license is a plus. Able to deliver & transfer equipment via truck and tag trailer.
- Problem-solver: Can troubleshoot issues, conduct research, and solve challenges efficiently.
- Adaptable Self-Starter: Someone flexible and able to adjust to changes in the daily schedule while taking the initiative to manage projects independently.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Strong time management and prioritization skills; completing all tasks accurately with a focus on quality.
- Strong Communicator & Professional: Excellent communication skills, able to follow instructions and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
