Travel Registered Nurse Transplant Job
Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Transplant to provide specialized care for patients undergoing organ transplant procedures. This role involves preoperative and postoperative patient care, monitoring for signs of organ rejection, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families throughout the transplant process.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to transplant patients before and after surgery
- Monitor for signs of organ rejection, infection, or complications and respond promptly
- Administer immunosuppressive medications and educate patients on adherence
- Collaborate with surgeons, transplant coordinators, and specialty teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Conduct patient education on post-transplant lifestyle changes, medication management, and follow-up care
- Perform routine assessments, diagnostic tests, and documentation of patient progress
- Support organ donor patients and assist in living donor care
- Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in transplant team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transplant nursing, critical care, or related field
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Transplant-specific certification (CCTN) preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies, transplant procedures, and post-surgical care
- Excellent patient advocacy, communication, and teamwork skills
