This position is an analyst in OnSite Partners’ Energy Market Analytics Practice. The role is focused on producing high-quality analyses to understand Client’s current energy status, support offerings, and evaluate solutions. An ideal candidate is capable of independent critical thinking, produces accurate, supported and detailed analyses and is comfortable discussing analyses with team members. The individual should possess the ability to focus on details and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analytics
  • Perform wholesale and retail market analysis and reports. This includes but is not limited to energy markets (basis, DA/RT, forwards, historic liquidations, futures, natural gas, and correlations), capacity markets (RTOs including Demand Response), retail tariffs, utility programs, transmission (NITS rates and tags), and ancillary services
  • Collaborate with others to translate wholesale and retail challenges into opportunities
  • Working with the team, evaluate energy supply offers and make effective procurement recommendations
  • Generate reports and market insight for internal and external consumption through personal analysis, industry articles and available data on energy markets and utility rates

• Advisory Fulfilment
  • Support Total Energy Management with data insights, client reporting and response to client inquiries
  • Support Cost Management Solutions - develop customer budgets and cost forecasts and analyze variance of the forecasts and budgets
  • Working with the team, support development of client presentations to support deliverables

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Relevant analytics, pricing, energy or commodity experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred
• Experience in wholesale and retail energy markets, ability to understand fundamental market drivers and impact on market movements
• Analytical skills, organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize and plan, strong time management skills
• Strong Excel, modelling, and presentation skills
• Proven statistical and quantitative abilities – coding experience preferred
• Quality communication skills
• Ability and interest in continuous learning
