Automation Project Manager

As an Automation Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing automation projects to ensure delivery dates, scope, and financial targets are met. You will develop business cases for new capital projects and lead these projects using sound project management processes and principles.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate training for plant personnel to support new technologies.

• Support plant integration projects and provide post-implementation assistance.

• Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure smooth, continuous operations.

• Manage internal, external, direct, and indirect project team resources.

• Communicate effectively at all organizational levels with strong presentation skills.

• Manage multiple complex, multi-faceted projects simultaneously.

• Align teams to defined project charters, goals, and metrics.

• Apply systematic problem-solving tools to resolve technical challenges.

• Manage capital equipment suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships.

• Coordinate stakeholder alignment across departments.

• Partner with IT and plant teams to implement system upgrades with future manufacturing projects in mind.

Essential Skills

• Project management and engineering experience.

• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc systems.

• Knowledge in capital equipment and automation.

• Strong communication skills internally and with vendors to drive timelines and budget.

• Experience in commissioning, engineering, automation engineering, and project coordination.

• Understanding of the project life cycle, programming, and robotics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lead and drive automation projects.

• Robotics and PLC knowledge is a strong plus.

• Previous experience overseeing automation projects.

• Strong project management experience with an ability to meet deadlines.

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline.

• 6 or more years of manufacturing and operations experience.

• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Work Environment

This position will involve working in manufacturing facilities throughout the US, implementing new automation equipment into various plants across the country and some overseas. When not traveling, you will work from a new and clean corporate office, with additional engineering offices being built with the latest technology. Travel may also include some international opportunities if desired.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $64.00/hr.
