Housekeeping Associate

Position Summary: The Housekeeping Associate will work to ensure the buildings on the AFC campus in Bloomingdale, OH, are clean and a welcoming environment is made for guests. The employee will report directly to the Hospitality Services Supervisor and will work with other Housekeeping Associates to ensure a welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors. The employee will act in a supervisory role on an as needed basis when the Hospitality Services Supervisor is unavailable. Reports To: Hospitality Services Supervisor Direct Reports: None Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Position Status: Full-Time, Seasonal Salary Range: Salary is dependent on experience Supervisory Responsibilities:

• From time to time the employee will supervise other Housekeeping Associates as determined by the Hospitality Services Supervisor, and as necessary to ensure a welcoming environment for guests.
• Employee will train and supervise youth and adult volunteers in the support of events where necessary.

Major Duties and Functions:

• Employee will use cleaning tools and other products to clean and maintain buildings, facilities and equipment located on the AFC's property in Bloomingdale, Ohio.
• Employee will remove and dispose of trash according to the appropriate policies.
• Employee will launder bedding, towels and other items as needed and will maintain storage areas.
• Employee will report anything in need of repair to the Hospitality Services Supervisor, as observed while fulfilling duties.
• Employee will lead, train, and supervise volunteers in the course of these duties.
• Employee will assist in other projects as directed by the Hospitality Services Supervisor, Hospitality Manager, or a Director or President of the AFC.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with a variety of cleaning products and tools.
• Self-directed and motivated.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.

Education and Experience: •High School Diploma and 1+ years experience in cleaning. Preferred Experience: •1+ year supervisory experience. Physical Requirements:

• The employee will usually be required to stand or walk for 30 minutes or more.
• The employee may occasionally be required to stand, reach, bend and lift up to 40 lbs.
• The employee will be required to work in confined spaces.
• Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision and ability to hear conversations in office and group settings.
• Attendance at meetings or events may be required.
