Optician or Apprentice Optician

Join our team, we are growing! We are looking for an experienced optician who will thrive in a busy east side optometry office. The successful candidate should be prepared to work 40hrs per week with NO required weekend hours. Our patients expect knowledge of frames, lens materials and other lens options; as well as efficient, friendly service, with attention to detail.
Job responsibilities and daily duties:
- Review Physician's prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
- Operate manual lensometer and other equipment to achieve proper fittings for patients
- Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
- Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
- Communicate with physician any questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues
- Make dispense calls to patients to pick up contacts/glasses
Qualifications and skills:
- Experience with both contact lenses and glasses is beneficial but not required
- Ability to operate manual lensometers and other equipment is beneficial but not required
- Ability to work quickly and independently
- Excellent customer service and sales skills required
- Reliable, dependable, and loyal
- Sense of style and fashion is helpful
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $26.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Required)
